About

Sydney Brewer is a strong, physical, athletic center mid who has great vision, can see the field and play the through ball or the switch, and knows when to speed things up and go at a back line or to pull it back and possess. She is a starter for the Colorado Pride 04 ECNL team and plays interchangeably at Attacking and Defensive mid for her team. As needed Sydney also plays center back. 

Sydney is skilled at posting up and receiving the ball with pressure on her back and has the ability to create space and turn and get her eyes up field or out wide to keep the ball moving. She has good size and strength at 5’7 and can take a hit and keep moving, she’s not easily knocked off the ball. Syd sees the gaps well and times her through balls nicely to slashing forwards. She has a good first touch and uses it well to start dribble penetration into space right away.

Sydney can do moves and beat players off the dribble at speed, but her best attribute is she’s a true passing center mid with the ability to share the ball, find the best pass and distribute to her team all around the field. She’s not just a pass it back and square all the time player, she scans and finds the best attacking option and keeps possession which is golden for teams to have at the higher levels. And she can crack the ball too and score.
