Sydney Cardwell is a versatile 5’5 Fwd or outside defender. She is an honor student posting a 4.0 GPA and wants to pursue an education in Exercise Science or a field in athletics coaching. Sydney is strong and aggressive, she is confident in taking players on and getting into the attack. She is a member of the Louisiana State ODP team. Syd earned 1st team All-State this year, 1st team All-Metro and 1st team All-Parish. She also has been honored as a three time All-District player including 1st team the last two years.
Her club team Baton Rouge Soccer Club won the State Cup title in 2019 with Sydney earning the Golden Boot award for the State Cup tournament that year. She also runs track and was a valuable part of the 4×100 relay team that won the District Championship. I believe that the defining feature of Syd’s play is her willingness to do whatever it takes to win the ball, dive, slide, run through a brick wall, she’ll get there. I love that mentality of doing whatever it takes.
