About
Sophia Soaf is a very technical skilled player with the ball who possesses and dishes the ball with the best of them. Soaf is a starting central midfielder for the West Coast Girls Academy 06 team. This team was ranked third in the nation just a few years ago, and recently won the Surf Cup tournament Best of the Best Super Black division going undefeated with shutouts in each game. Prior to joining the GA team she played up a full age group on the 04/05 ECNL-R team.
Sophia reads the game really well, she knows when to speed up play or slow things down. She switches the field and can play nice thru balls or chip passes over the top. She is a very versatile utility player in the midfield and can play each position interchangeably there 8, 7,11, 6 wherever she is needed with very little drop off. She makes good supporting runs after passing and is always looking for the give and go option. Soaf has also been a starter for Portola High since her freshman year.
