Sanam Milani is the starting goalkeeper for the St James FC Virginia DA/GA team that is ranked in the top 10 in the nation. For 2020 she was listed in the Top 25 for GA and ECNL goalkeepers in the country for Instat, she was selected as a girl’s DA Playoff Standout in June of 2019, GA weekly standout for Fall of 2020 she’s a Region 1 ODP Player and event selection 2017 and 2018.
Her and her team conceded 0 goals during both the 2017 and 2018 State cup championship title runs. She only conceded 1 goal during the Super Y league play and Finals 2017/18 where she was named the Top performer of the Super Y Championship finals. In 2020 her DA U16 team was ranked 2nd in the nation and their SoccerMasters team rank was 3rd in the nation as recently as Nov of 2020. So she’s been a big part of her team’s success nationally. Sanam is great at decision making. She’s calm even in tough situations and can make a big play, doesn’t rush her distribution and finds the best option and is very athletic and good with her feet as her team uses her frequently to switch the ball through and keep possession. She has powerful goal kicks that can make it to the half field and her punts frequently go 10 yards plus past the half. Sanam has been well trained and has impeccable positioning and has great form and technique. She has reliable hands and fast reaction speed to make tough saves. She’s 5’5 and 1/2 but has the range and athletic ability to make saves at the post. Academically she carries a 3.6 GPA.
