Samantha Hamilton is a 5’9 defender from Cape Coral, Florida. She is the starting center back/outside defender for the Cape Coral Cyclones. Samantha is fast and athletic, good in the air, and calm on the ball. She can pass and dribble out of pressure effectively. She connects on passes downfield and is a good leader and hard worker.
Prior to moving to Florida a year ago and joining FC Pride, Samantha was a key player for her Indiana Pride ECNL Comp team where she competed as a member of their club for 8 years prior to her move. In Indiana Sam’s Fisher High team 2019-2021 was ranked #9 in the state and 80th in the nation for 3A. Once she moved to Cape Coral she made the Mariner High Varsity team helping them as the team’s starting center back to their first 5A State Championship in school history for any sport for the 2021-2022 season. Their defense allowed zero goals throughout all playoff games and state championships. For this season in 2023, the team again had a stellar season and Samantha helped lead them to a 2nd place finish in State.
Samantha has had a number of out of state colleges reach out to her for recruitment to come play for them. She wants to stay in Florida though and would consider teams instate for all levels D1-even JC if its a good fit. She has an overall GPA of 3.55.
