About
Mika Maldonado is a technical high IQ outside defender/ CB that was a recruited D2 freshman this fall for Colorado Christian University. She was behind a few talented returning defenders, but decided she wanted to enter the transfer portal and see what opportunities are out there. Prior to attending CCU, Mika was an every game starter for her Sporting CA ECNL 07 team. Prior to sporting she played for Strikers ECNL out of Irvine, another prestigious club as a starter for them too.
Mika reads the game well, jumps passes, and can possess and find good targets downfield. Mika does a great job at shifting and being an option to receive. She has been well coached and is looking for a competitive Division 2 level program. She wants a great academic institution for her education.
For high school Mika was a 4 year Varsity Starter for Oak Hills High where she’s a 1st and 2nd team All-League defender. She’s a team captain leading them to 3 consecutive CIF playoff bids with one conference title. Academically she’s a 3 year Honor Student with a 4.1 GPA.
