About
Makela Solbak is a dominant defensive center mid who shuts down opposing teams’ attacks up the spine. She is a very versatile, strong, physical player that uses her body well to win the ball. She is dominant in the air, regularly scoring header goals and winning the ball on the defensive end for her team. She has a strong leg for shots and crosses, she transitions and gets into the attack consistently, and she is a good distributor.
I think Makela has the ability to be an impact player for any mid major D1 program in the country. She is consistent in her play, she can contribute on both sides of the ball. She has a great work rate and fitness level and she possesses and moves the ball well. She is a regular starter and key player for her Sharks ECNL 05 team. In addition to center mid, Makela also can play the CB position and in high school she is a multi year captain playing at the 8 position.
Academically she carries a 4.3 GPA and wants to pursue a degree field in Bio/Chem.
