About

Maddi is a very high soccer IQ player. She is the team captain and starting center back for her SC Wave GA 05 team that is nationally ranked. Maddi has been selected as a GA top 30 region player, 3x USYS Midwest Conference Best XI Selection. She has helped her team to be the GA Mid-America Conference Champs as well as 4x Wisconsin State champs, 2019-2020 National League Division champs and 2019 Midwest region Semi-finalists.  Aside from her accolades, Maddi is a solid consistent anchor for her back line that wins her 1 vs 1 battles, always seems to be in the right place positioned well to provide cover and support for her team and win the ball.

Maddi is a good distributor from the back with the ability to serve a perfectly flighted ball over the top in the gaps to start a 1 vs 1 counter attack. She can connect second and third tier passes consistently and knows when to dribble out of pressure and get up field to find targets and dish it off. She is a good communicator and organizer and strong in the air. In my opinion what sets Maddi apart is her footwork in mirror defending, staying in front of the defender not diving in and winning the ball, that defending skill is invaluable. At 5’5 1/2, she also thrives as an outside back when called upon to play there.
