About
Logan Funk is a D1 transfer from the University of Central Arkansas where he was a scholar shipped redshirt Sophomore for them. Prior to his time at UCA Logan was a defensive leader for his La Roca ECNL team as their starting CB. Logan is a smart, strong and physical defender who was the anchor for his ECNL team. In college he was a reserve behind som talented upperclassmen defenders so he only played in two games this past year. He makes big tackles, wins his 1 vs 1 battles in the open field, and gets his eyes downfield afterwards to complete second and third tier passes. He reads the game well to slide in and close any gaps in the passing lane. He anticipates what’s going on and jumps the passes to intercept them. He’s goes up in a crowd to win the ball out of the air. He’s also composed on the ball once he gains possessions and finds an open target to distribute to.
His most valuable asset is probably his communication and leadership skills in the games. He is constantly talking, directing and encouraging his teammates to stay focused and play as one throughout the game. His ECNL team was ranked 2nd in the Mountain West region, and 8th nationally. Logan led his back line at Weber High to a state championship with a 19-0 record only allowing 3 goals against us all year, a new state record where they finished third in the nation. 3.82 GPA. If interested in Logan please email or call him at 801-564-5577.
He was coached by David Chevez who has produced a number of high level players at both the college and professional levels. Coach Chevez’s cell is 801-440-9363 if you want a reference. Logan is open to playing anywhere in the country as long as it is a good competitive fit and falls within their annual budget range. Academically he has a 3.8 College GPA. He had a 24 ACT. He is looking to transfer and play for the fall of 2024.
