About
Franziska Semik is a 5’10 defender who is skilled enough technically to play both Center back and outside defender who can get up the flanks and attack, combine and create. She has a powerful accurate cross, a strong leg for shots and set pieces. Fran has good ball control and can dribble and beat players in 1 vs 1 situations in the attack. She uses her body well to shield or win the ball, and is not afraid to stick her nose in on a hard 50/50 challenge to win the ball.
Fran is an every game starter at outside back and CB for her WCFC 04 DPL team that had the top record in the nation this year, 22-2-4 and fell in a shootout in the national championship game after tying 0-0. Their team can compete at the highest levels and has beaten 4 out of the last 5 ECNL teams they have played in friendlies and tournaments the last 18 months. Some background on this team, they were the San Diego Strikers Premier team who went to nationals in 2019 as a top 4 team in SoCal, West Coast absorbed their team and the 03 team but already had a GA team, so they slotted them at the DPL spot and they have continued to kick butt there no matter who they are playing against.
Fran does very well especially for her size to get into the attack, reads the game well and has a good first touch and technical skills. For her high school team they play her more at Center Back, so she has good experience there in the middle as well. She has a 3.75 GPA and wants to pursue a degree in Occupational therapy or health sciences
