About
Ellie Rutkin is a very skilled 1 vs 1 defender with impeccable footwork and timing. She is a 2024 grad who anchors her Pateadores 05/06 ECNL team’s backline. She has played up with the older age group’s ECNL 04/05 team this past season and will solely play for the 05/06 ECNL team starting this summer. She has been the starting Center Back for her club team and can also play effectively at defensive center/holding mid, where she has played for her 3 years on Varsity at Trabuco Hills HS. Ellie was captain this past season and led her team into CIF Southern Section playoffs, and was named Seaview League MVP.
Ellie reads the game really well, knows when to break on the ball and step, and when she does, she goes hard. She’s not afraid to back down from a tackle and she wins the ball. Rutkin has a blast for a shot and can serve long balls accurately from 30-40 yards to connect with targets. She takes her teams set pieces and creates scoring chances for her teammates. She is good in the air and wins headers consistently. She’s a highly versatile player with pace and good technique with a good IQ on offense with her distribution decisions. In the classroom Ellie carries a 4.5 GPA. She is open to playing anywhere geographically as long as it’s a good fit.
