About
Danny Fischer is a 5’11 GK from the SLSG 02 Elite team. Danny is a very athletic keeper, quick off his line and can cover a lot of ground in the box. Danny has big booming punts that regularly go 10 to 20 yards past the half. His goal kicks make it to the half, and he has accurate throws and makes sound distribution decisions.
Danny has been the starting GK and team captain for the 04 Premier team but was added last summer to play up a few years for the Elite 02 team and split time in goal at Elite. Danny has steadily been progressing the last four years from starter, to a captain in NPL play, to playing up age groups in Elite leagues and now recently making the U19 STL FC Academy MLS Next team.
Danny is extremely athletic and can save well placed shots to the upper corners. He has solid hands and catches the ball cleanly. He has good technique, positioning and form in goal and is reliable for his team. He has been well trained in all aspects of his game including communicating to organize his defense in the run of play to making a big-foot save on difficult point blank shots. For high school he has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. He was awarded First Team All-State, All-Conference, 2nd Team All-Region and team captain honors. Danny has a 3.9 GPA.
