Cal Calhoon is a dynamic 2027 grad striker and outside mid for SC Wave’s U19 team. He is a two sport All-Conference star athlete, a leader and hard worker that is hungry to be challenged and coached. Cal scored 40 goals with 13 assists as a junior and was honored as a unanimous 1st Team All-Conference Selection, Offensive MVP, Team MVP and Conference Player of the Year as well as being selected to the All-State team and was a team captain. Cal is on pace to accomplish a very rare feat of scoring 100 goals in college having scored 22 goals as a freshman 1st team All-Conference, 6 goals in 6 games his Sophomore season before being injured, and 40 this year to bring his total to 68 so far with his senior season to go.
Cal trains and plays for the MLS Next Academy Wave team outside of his basketball season. He is blazing fast, a blue collar player that works hard and battles for every ball, and reads the game well with space and his runs. He is coached on the wave by Steve Purdy and Andy Steiger. Cal has a 4.0 GPA in the classroom and wants to pursue a degree in Business. He is one the top guards for Wisconsin in basketball as well.
