Claire Hirakawa

Claire Hirakawa is a dynamic ECNL midfielder from the San Diego Surf 07/08 ECNL team. She primarily plays attacking center mid for them and as a left footed winger. She is fast, athletic, and crafty with the ball. Claire sees the field well, is a creative passer, and is great at possessing and keeping the ball under pressure for her team. Defensively she’s great in 1 vs 1 situations and has good timing and footwork to win the ball back.

Her ECNL experience started when she was younger with the Pateadores, then a few years later for the SoCal Blues ECNL, and after coaching changes she decided to play for SD Surf ECNL.

She has been a varsity starter since her freshman year, led the team in goals as a Sophomore and was honored as an All-Conference player. Her junior season is starting soon. Claire will be attending the Arizona Fall Showcase this November.

In the classroom she carries a 4.6 GPA and loves surfing, but is willing to play away from the coast to get a good education and soccer environment if needed. She is wanting to pursue a degree in the engineering field, possibly environmental, or marine biology, or even a good business degree.
